Here’s the flip side of the guitar, now sealed. The neck and core Western Flamed Maple look great! The last time we saw the back of the guitar, there was still a lot of carving that needed to be done. As you can see, the carving is now complete. The transitions between the neck and peghead on the one end, and the neck and body on the other are expertly contoured.
Also, the continuous wood backplates have been reunited with the rest of the guitar. With wood this nice, it would truly be a shame to waste it with metal backplates! I’m going to see if Alembic has black screws instead of the stainless steel ones shown here. I just think they’ll blend in a bit better.
CJ, you have done your Dad proud. This is an awesome instrument. I can hardly wait to hear it. The sound that this beautiful guitar plays will be the true testament to this labor of love and money.
