…of things before my eyes…\u00a0 Presented here are the insides of the back Coco Bolo laminates.\u00a0 You can see where the cutouts were made for the electronics and battery plates.\u00a0 These will be \u201ccontinuous wood\u201d backplates, so the woodcutter will save the original cutouts of Coco Bolo and individually laminate them for strength.\u00a0 When the guitar is fully assembled, there will be uninterrupted wood grain across the back.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

These pieces are only rough cut at this point, but you can now see the basic shape of the guitar body, with its two asymmetrical horns (which will eventually get a bit more of a \u201cpoint\u201d to them).\u00a0 Even though these are the insides of the laminates, I am able to determine which elements of wood grain made it into the instrument.\u00a0 I am looking forward to a similar picture of the top laminate!<\/p>\n

Also notice the profound change in wood color from the previous entry\u2019s picture, taken when the wood was freshly sliced.\u00a0 Once it hits the air, Coco Bolo tends to darken up and the yellow\/orange components turn to a more brick red.\u00a0 This color change happens quite rapidly during the first four weeks, but after that initial window, the color change is much more gradual. \u00a0The difference in color is further enhanced here because of the glue that has been applied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
